Bogliasco, a coastal village in Liguria, Italy, is steeped in history dating back to Roman times. Nestled on the Portofino Peninsula, it was a medieval hub influenced by noble families and seafaring traders. Characterized by colorful architecture and the notable Church of Santa Maria Assunta, Bogliasco marries its rich past with the stunning natural beauty of the Italian Riviera.

Our recommendations

Bogliasco is a peaceful little town, not packed with tourists like other Italian spots. It’s a place for relaxing walks through streets full of charm, enjoying quiet beach time, and seeing a few old churches. There are some restaurants around, but since food isn’t our main focus, we'll let you discover those on your own.

Useful tips

Parking:We discovered an affordable parking spot here.

Food: During our visit, we didn't indulge in the local cuisine.

Crowdiness: When we visited, the city was noticeably quieter compared to the other Italian cities we explored that day.

Driving in the city: As we gently navigated the delightful narrow streets of Bogliasco, we didn't come across any tricky ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones). Our little adventure included a bit of a puzzle with the ZSL areas, where parking overnight isn't allowed. We initially thought driving through might get us fined, but it's really about where you park. Interestingly, the parking spot we found was actually in a ZSL area, adding a twist to our parking experience!

Just a little tip for your travels: don't forget to pack some mosquito protection, especially around and after sunset. This is a handy hint not just for Bogliasco but for all of Italy – those pesky mosquitoes love the Italian evenings as much as we do!
